A new year means a lot of people are busy cleaning up their homes after a hectic festive season.
And one of the rooms of the house that can get the messiest is definitely the kitchen.
The oven is known to be notoriously hard to clean, with many people even admitting they don't know how to do it properly.
However, there's one part of the oven which is often forgotten when people are sprucing it up – the hood.
One woman named Rita said she didn't forgot to do it, however she moaned online that despite wiping down the hood of the oven, she was left with smears on it.
Seeking advice from others, Rita took to Facebook group 'Mrs Hinch cleaning tips and tricks' to ask other cleaning fans if they knew what to do.
Alongside a photo of the smear-stained hood, she wrote: "Hi, hoping you can help, this hood has been wiped over with an antibacterial wipe and has left these marks.
"We have tried wiping it over with water but it has still left these marks. Can anyone suggest what to do? Thanks."
Luckily for Rita, the Mrs Hinch fanatics came through.
Although there were many different suggestions, there was one surprising tip which came out on top – using baby oil.
One person told her: "Best thing to use is baby oil, brings it up like new."
While another added: "Baby oil is fantastic on stainless steel."
A third agreed, as they wrote: "Barely have to wipe it after you use baby oil, I used dry cloth to apply it and literally wiped it almost dry."
As a fourth chimed in: "Slight bit of baby oil. Brings it up like new!"
Some even shared photos after using the baby oil to show how good it worked.
Considering a 500ml bottle of baby oil is around just £2.50, it is rather a bargain to get your surfaces clean.
Despite baby oil being the most popular choice, there were also many other suggestions, including WD40, olive oil and windowlene.
Mrs Hinch fans are known to be hot with their cleaning and home tips.
They also recently shared a 'game-changing' hack which dries clothes quickly without using a tumble dryer.
