A woman recently turned to a Mrs Hinch fan group on Facebook for help with cleaning the inside of her radiators, after failing to find a successful method herself.

She wrote: "Can anybody help me with tips for cleaning my radiators? The top doesn't come off.”

It appeared she'd come to the right place, as her post was quickly flooded with responses from fellow cleaning enthusiasts.

One person replied: "My friend bought a radiator brush from Amazon and it’s amazing.” While another echoed the response, saying: "You haven't thought about the radiator’s cleaning brush.”

Another simply wrote: “Get a long brush, it works.”

Radiator brushes can be purchased online from various retailers including Amazon and Lakeland. However, other cleaning fans had even better ideas, which most likely wouldn't require any additional spending.

One thrifty cleaner responded: “I blow the hairdryer down mine to blast the dust out and then hoover up what comes out.”

A second group member agreed, replying: “Blast with a hairdryer. It will blow the dust out of the bottom.”

Others had different ideas, with one person writing: "I attach a cloth to a feather duster that works.”

A third thrifty trick was also revealed, as a fellow Mrs Hinch fan added: “Boil the kettle, put a bowl underneath the radiator and pour the water through and the bowl will catch each part that you clean. I’d probably put an old towel down as well. Hairdryers are also good.”

Who knew cleaning your radiator could be so simple!
