Mrs Hinch’s favourite kettle de-scaler removes limescale off for less than £2

Brits love a cup of tea, in fact, research has found that we drink up to five mugs each day.

And since we love our hot brews so much, it also means we swallow up to 338,000 kilos of flaky limescale along the way.

If you don't clean your kettle frequently, you could find big builds up which can wind up in your tea or coffee.

Limescale can affect key household appliances, such as kettles and coffee machines.

With that said, the experts at cleaning product Oust found Brits spend around £28.5million on replacing broken appliances.

So if you want to spend a little bit of money, all you need is a cleaning hack to help you remove limescale off your kettle.

Mrs Hinch uses Oust's All Purpose Descaler which costs just £1.66 a bottle.

It helps keep her kettle up to scratch and gives her appliance a well-deserved MOT service.

While it's possible to scrub away limescale, the mineral deposits are tough and using a lot of force can damage the kettle.

To solve the issue, use the product to restore that "good as new shine" within 10 minutes.

The key to preventing limescale damage is regular descaling of appliances or surfaces.

If you live in a hard water area the experts would advise descaling every three months and around six months in soft water areas.

Sophie Herrmann, a spokeswoman at Oust, said: "Over 60% of the UK suffers from hard water.

"This leads to limescale build up on our appliances, and it's on the rise."

She added: "Once hard water is heated, it creates a chalky off-white crust that creates limescale."

There are a number of places where you can pick up a bottle of Oust for cheap.

For example, Amazon, Morrisons, Ocado, Tesco and even Wilko.
