A mum has caused a raging debate online after explaining that she buys KFC nuggets for her three-year-old child a whopping three times every week.
Australian mum, Loca, posted on the parenting group on Facebook to ask for advice on feeding her fussy daughter – and questioned if anyone else had a similar problem.
She noted that while she’s tried to make home made nuggets her little girl will not eat them.
And, Loca explained that she does also offer healthier meals in between KFC nuggets such as courgette fritters and spaghetti bolognese.
Some responses to the revelation were kind and told her to “pick your battles” and not feel guilty so long as her child was fed and happy.
Another person commented: "Do what is right for you at that moment. Don't let the other perfect parents impact your life.”
"Don't be hard on yourself if that's what your child chooses a couple times a week,” added another.
A third said: “Three times a week seems like a lot. Once a week would be okay in my opinion.
"I'd try healthier types of nuggets before KFC… Lots of salt, saturated fats and chemicals in fast food."
Others suggested recipes that could work as an alternative for the little girl.
One person noted: “My kids are fussy and eat crumbed chicken tenders (that are) absolutely delicious.”
While another said: "Try homemade KFC chicken, it's a Thermomix recipe but you can mix ingredients in a blender, it's amazing and tastes better, just make sure to double coat the chicken."
Health advice states that three-year-olds should not eat more than 2g of salt per day.
Currently, a large KFC popcorn chicken racks up 1.82g of salt – meaning the little girl is getting almost her daily salt in one part of her meal.
