Mum felt stuck in a rut so posted lingerie pics online – and now shes a model

Many of us considered career changes during lockdown.

And for some, it provided the opportunity to test out different business ventures.

This was the case for Ria Rose – an ambitious mum-of-five from Pembrokeshire, Wales.

The 32-year-old's husband set her up an Instagram page, where she started posting glamorous snaps.

Ria posed in lingerie and has garnered more than 80,000 followers in the last couple of years.

She told WalesOnline: "It started in lockdown. My husband just of set up my account for me and we just kind of went from there. I didn't expect it to go as well as it did. It has just kind of grown bigger and bigger, since."

Ria continued: "When I started off, I didn't want anyone to know who was local. So that's why my name and everything was different. I didn't want to jump into something that might not work and then have everyone talking about me."

As the model's follower count grew, so did her confidence.

Her husband was her biggest cheerleader throughout, with the influencer admitting: "I had like a good few subs within a day and I was like ‘what the hell this is crazy’.

"(My husband) loves it and it was his idea. He's always been my hype person.

"I've always liked kind of been into modelling but I lost myself after I had the kids had hadn’t really thought of it."

Ria added: "When I started doing it I was in a bit of a rut.

"I had just had my fifth baby and I nearly died from a haemorrhage from her.

"I was in a rut and my confidence was low. Though I do get some backlash now there is more good than bad. And it gives me so much more confidence in myself."

As well as boosting her own self-esteem, the mum is spreading a message of body positivity to others.

She said: "I got women all over that will DM me who that might not necessarily be in the industry, but they would love to just be able to go to the beach in a bikini or wear a top without worrying.

"I do get messages a lot saying ‘thank you so much, don't listen to the hate because you've helped me’."

While Ria loves her new career, she admits it can be tougher than it looks.

She explained: "The hardest part of it is social media. Taking the pictures and doing all that stuff is the easy part.

"It's just like every single day you literally go to your phone, because you've got to do posts on all your social media.

"You've got a plan the outfits. There is a lot of pressure to put content out constantly."

The Instagram star also confessed that she receives criticism whenever she talks about wanting to tone up.

Ria said: "When I tell my fans 'right, I gotta lose a stone and a half' I will get messages saying 'oh, no, don't lose your body'.

"I'm not going to go too much into details because I am not a story seller but I get professional footballers and everything that are in my DMs and they're like 'do not lose weight your body's perfect'.

"I just want to be happy with what I am. I want to lose a little bit and tone up because obviously in lockdown everyone put on a bit of weight."

The mum refuses to let these comments hold her back.

Her career is going from strength to strength and she has recently been nominated in the best big beautiful woman premium social media star at the XBiz Cam Awards.
