Mum finds £5,000 in her Aldi chocolate bar

A MUM found a £5,000 golden ticket tucked inside her Aldi chocolate bar just in time for Christmas as the supermarket's Willa Wonka-style contest continues.

The discount grocer launched a competition last month announcing it had hidden 25 tickets inside chocolate bars for shoppers to find.

Five lucky shoppers could win £10,000, and 20 of the vouchers are worth £5,000 – and the tickets are in 800g Aldi's Dairyfine Golden Giveaway Chocolate Bars which cost £4.99.

Sian Walker, 43, from Nantwich, was shocked to find a ticket worth £5,000 while shopping with her son in her local Aldi store.

She told the Mirror that she'll be building a "dream extension" with the cash and that she "couldn't believe" she had found one.

She said: "We were joking around pretending we had won and then when we opened it up it was such a surprise to see the golden ticket inside."

Sian isn't the only lucky Aldi shopper to have bagged a golden ticket.

Stephen Dowling, 67, got £5,000 after receiving one of the winning chocolate bars as a gift for his birthday.

There are reportedly 22 more tickets still on the shelves across the country.

If you fancy buying a bar to be in with a shot of winning, you can find your nearest store online, but remember they won't be for sale in Aldi Local branches.

If you find a ticket, you can claim the value of the cash prize by visiting Aldi's website.

Winners must claim their prize by midnight on January 24 2022 by sending Aldi their details and then posting the original Golden Ticket.

Entrants must live in Great Britain and be over 18, the supermarket said.

Aldi has launched Christmas merchandise including jumpers for shoppers to bag.

You can buy the toys featured in the shop's Christmas advert.
