Kids adore a trip to Build-A-Bear Workshop but as parents, it can be less fun once you reach the till.

But a visit to Build-A Bear doesn’t have to cost a bomb depending on the timing of your trip.

One mum has shared an amazing tip that will please you as much as it will your little ones.

TikTok creator Marwa Sammi shared the store's Count Your Candles promotion that she says more parents need to be in the know about.

During your child’s birthday month, they can buy a bear with a price tag to match their age.

So if it’s their fifth birthday, you will pay £5, if they are six, it’s £6 and so on.

Safe to say, it probably wouldn't be such a bargain if you take advantage of the offer on your own birthday.

But if you have a young child, this is an offer you will probably want to check out.

In the video, the US-based mum explains: “This is super random but I feel like not enough moms know about this. Build-A-Bear can be super expensive.

“But during your child’s birth month, you actually only have to pay their age. So, let’s say they’re turning one, you only pay $1.”

In the UK, the offer is the same in pounds rather than dollars.

She adds: “And they get to do the whole process. They get to do the stuffing, put the little heart in it, and it’s so inexpensive.”

The tip quickly went viral with many parents flocking to thank the TikTok user for letting them in on the secret.

“Oh my goodness I didn’t know and I have three kiddos, I literally spent over $60 when I purchased two bears with their costume and shoes”, wrote one mum.

Another said: “Thank you for this! My son wanted me to take him there but it’s so expensive!! His birthday is this month.”

A third simply said: “OMG thank you for sharing this!”

You do need to sign up online before your trip and the offer only stands for the birthday bear.

It’s also an additional cost if you want to add an outfit to the bear which also could fit old baby grows if you'd rather save the money.

The Count Your Candles promotion is confirmed on the Build a Bear website and also extends to any children who celebrated their birthday in lockdown while stores were closed between now and March 2020.
