DEAR DEIDRE: WHEN my boyfriend and I were on a break I kissed another guy – and he’s finding it hard to forgive me.
I am 20 and my boyfriend is 21. We have been together for two years but have had a couple of break-ups during that time. We still love one another but have lost our touch in the bedroom.
During the last break I made a horrible mistake. I met a man in a club and ended up kissing him. We didn’t have sex but did other things, if you know what I mean. I told my boyfriend three months later because I couldn’t live with the guilt.
I have apologised but he is finding it so hard to forgive me. How can I help him believe that I made a mistake and I am trying to be a better person?

DEIDRE SAYS: You didn’t do anything wrong. You were a free agent when you met up with this other guy.
Tell your boyfriend you want to be with him but have nothing to apologise for.
If he wants to be with you, then together you need to resolve the issues which split you up.
Please don’t stay with him if he intends on holding this over you. It will affect your self-esteem.
