My missus calls me disgrace for not having dirty sex and mocks my manliness

My girlfriend never says or does anything nice. I have to beg her for sex and then thank her afterwards.

I recently took her away for a romantic weekend and she was an ungrateful nightmare.

She demanded luxury spa treatments and expensive booze while talking to me like dirt.

One night she flirted so outrageously with the young waiter that the poor fella was blushing.

Later, naked in bed, she made a point of telling me it was him she was fantasising about him, not me.

Then she started on about my manliness. Apparently I’m a disgrace because I don’t give her enough dirty sex.

She said I’m boring and unimaginative between the sheets and that all of her friends have a far better orgasms.

If she’s to believed, they’re all having wild sex every night, in every position imaginable.

She claims that they all feel sorry for her because I’m such a washout. I try to be loving and inventive, but she throws my attempts back in my face.

She honestly believes I should count myself lucky for having her in my life. She says she could have the pick of anyone she fancies and won’t be around for ever. I tell her that I love her, but she says she doesn’t love me.

I ask her to put down her shield and just be nice, and she complains that I’m weak.

We’ve been together for seven years and she still treats me like a temporary boyfriend, a stop-gap.

Recently, my dog pulled on his lead and I fell headfirst into a deep puddle. She was crying with laughter. She’s always telling me that I’m a clumsy oaf who will never amount to anything.

I’m good at my job and have loads of friends, but she plays with my mind and makes me doubt myself and my abilities.

JANE SAYS: What a horrible sounding person. If she’s so discontented, then why does she bother sticking around?

Ask her outright if she’s interested in spending any more time in your company.

Tell her you try to do thoughtful things and she throws everything back in your face. How is that fair?

She can’t be allowed to carry on insulting and demoralising you because you’re a human being with feelings.

Sadly, if you and she admit you’re never going to make each other happy – and that your best days are behind you – it’s time to walk away.

No one can survive constantly being humiliated and put down. Call her bluff and end this farce.

I suspect she’s not quite as clever as she thinks. She may find life a lot colder and more challenging on the other side of your relationship.

But you cannot continue to indulge her brattish behaviour simply because you’ve been together for a while and feel obliged or sorry for her.

If the love and respect have gone, then you should follow them out of the door.
