Optical illusions are made to baffle the brain.
Now the latest image to seriously confuse people involves two cabinets.
The picture, created by Hammonds Furniture, shows how easily viewers can be deceived when looking at two-dimensional images.

The illusion makes it appear that two cabinets are completely different sizes when placed next to each other.
However, both cabinets are the exact same size (yeah, we're surprised too).
It's our brains wanting to see the 2D image in 3D which makes us believe the cabinets to be a different size.
The illusion was modelled from Roger Shepard's "Turning the Tables" originally published in his 1990 book Mind Sights.
This image makes two parallelograms (cabinet tops on this occasion) that are identical to appear very different in size.
As we live in a 3D world, we naturally adjust to 2D images into our own 3D interpretation, which occurs in this optical illusion.
The left cabinet with a purple top appears to be narrow and thin due to it being positioned vertically.

But the pink cabinet appears to have a square top as it's horizontal.
Looking for more optical illusions?
Previously, a picture, created by Ukrainian artist Oleg Shupliak, features four women, as it asks people to spot them all.
But not all females in the image are easy to find as it seems only 2% of the population can successfully find them all.
At first glance, the image shows a woman with gorgeous thick hair and a pretty flowing dress smiling as she talks on the phone.
Most people are likely to see this woman first, but there are in fact, another three ladies lingering in the photo too.
On another occasion, an illusion confused viewers as it makes circles appear to change colour.
