A cleaning queen has revealed how to instantly brighten stained grout in the bathroom with a DIY solution.
Melbourne mum-of-two, Chantel Mila, known as Mama Mila, used three items to create the ‘game-changing cleaner and scrubbed the area with go-to buys from Bunnings.
To whiten her grout she first combined one third cup of hydrogen peroxide and one cup of bicarb soda in a bowl.

How to clean your grout:
DIY cleaner ingredients:
- 1 cup Bicarb soda
- 1/3 cup Hydrogen peroxide
- 1 tbsp Dishwashing liquid
Method:
- Combine one third cup of hydrogen peroxide and one cup of bicarb soda in a bowl.
- Add one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid into the bowl and mix the cleaning solution together.
- Apply the mixture with a Rubbermaid Scrubbing Brush or grout scrubber onto the bathroom floor and work the DIY cleaner into the dirty grout.
- Leave the mixture on the bathroom floor for 20 minutes then throughly clean the area with water and a mop to reveal the brightened grout.
She then added one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid into the bowl and mixed the cleaning solution together.
Chantel applied the mixture with a $22.95 Rubbermaid Scrubbing Brush onto her bathroom floor and worked the DIY cleaner into the dirty grout.
