Prince William and Kate’s trip to America – all the details including if they’ll see Harry and Meghan

With their new titles of the Prince and Princess of Wales,Prince William andKate Middleton are set to embark on a series of public engagements in coming months.

The couple, who recently completed their first engagement since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, are set to head to America shortly before Christmas as part of the Earthshot Prize.

Created by 40 year old William, the Earthshot Prize was launched back in 2020 and aims to celebrate initiatives across the globe that are positively impacting the environment.

After the first ceremony was held in London last year, the event is set to head to Boston in Massachusetts for the second official event on 2 December.

Addressing the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit in New York City via video link on Wednesday, the Prince of Wales expressed his excitement and also revealed his beloved grandmother’s appreciation for the cause.

“During this time of grief, I take great comfort in your continued enthusiasm, optimism and commitment to the Earthshot Prize and what we are trying to achieve,” he said.

“Protecting the environment was a cause close to my grandmother's heart, and I know she would have been delighted to hear about this event and the support you're all giving our Earthshot finalists, the next generation of environmental pioneers.”

The royal also added that he and 40 year old Kate “are so excited to be coming to Boston in December” and that they looked forward to meeting all those involved.

After it was announced last year that the Earthshot Prize would be heading to America, royalfans began speculating whether Kate and William could meet with the Kennedy family for the second-year of their environmentalism awards.

After all, Prince William’s Earthshot initiative was inspired by US President John F Kennedy’s 1962 Moonshot speech in which he challenged Americans to land a man in space within ten years.

Taking to Twitter, one user wrote: “Would it be weird to make a vision board manifesting that the #EarthshotPrize2022 take place at the @JFKLibrary in Boston??? Because I think that’s my plan for tonight…”

The trip across the pond will also see the pair around a six hour plane journey fromPrince Harry andMeghan Markle ’s home in Los Angeles, leading to questions about whether the ‘Fab Four’ will reunite in the states.

Despite their united appearance during the mourning period following the late Queen’s death, royal expertNeil Sean has claimed that William and Kate’s visit could be “very problematic” for the Sussexes.

The commentator also told his viewers that the Prince and Princess of Wales could be set to feature on the cover of Time magazine while in America, more than a year after Harry and Meghan featured on the same publication.

“Wiliam and Catherine will be travelling to the US towards the end of the year to launch Earthshot, a very successful, independent charity fronted by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge,” he said.

He added: “They are seemingly not going to visit Harry and Meghan during this trip.

“But now it appears that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be featuring as solo front cover stars on the same magazine.”
