Princess Diana would be “very upset” by the rift between her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, according to the late royal’s go-to biographer.

“Diana said to me quite clearly on several occasions that she saw Harry as the wingman for William in what would be a very solitary, somber job as future king,” Andrew Morton, who secretly collaborated with Diana on his 1992 book, “Diana: Her True Story,” said on the UK’s “Loose Women” on Friday.

“She would have been very upset at the way these two have split apart,” he added.

Morton, 68, appeared on the talk show ahead of what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday on July 1.

The Princess of Wales died in August 1997 in a car crash in Paris. She was only 36 years old.

William, 39, and Harry, 36, are set to host an elaborate ceremony next Thursday at Kensington Palace, their mother’s former home, to unveil a statue in her honor. Tellingly, the warring brothers have reportedly “insisted” on giving separate speeches.

On Thursday, Harry departed from his Santa Barbara, Calif., home and flew to the UK, where he will quarantine for five days before joining his brother. Their father, Prince Charles, who divorced Diana in 1996, will be away at his Scottish estate during the event and reportedly has no plans to see Harry during the Duke of Sussex’s time in London.

Relations between William and Harry are said to have soured around March 2019, when the Duke of Cambridge decided he and his younger brother needed to “split” their households.

The move came after a bullying complaint was filed against Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, by her former communications secretary in 2018. The former actress, 39, has denied bullying palace staffers.

Harry and Meghan quit the royal family in January 2020 and moved stateside. The prince has since revealed that, in addition to William, he is not on good terms with Charles, 72, at the moment.

“He stopped taking my calls,” Harry claimed of his father during his and Meghan’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.
