Princess Eugenie shares throwback photo of her schooldays as she returns to Marlborough College to discuss her Anti-Slavery Collective

- Royal joined fellow co-founder of The Anti-Slavery Collective, Julia de Boinville
- Chatted with students about initiative ‘and how they too can become activists’
Princess Eugenie took a trip down memory lane as she visited her old school Marlborough College in Wiltshire, last week.
The Queen’s granddaughter, 31, joined her fellow co-founder of The Anti-Slavery Collective, Julia de Boinville, to speak with students about their initiative ‘and how they too can become activists’.
During their speech, the duo shared rare school photos, which were later shared to the organisation’s Instagram page, showing them with their classmates and seemingly on a beach holiday.
The social media post comes after the royal’s father-in-law George Brooksbank died just three days before the christening of his nine-month-old grandson August – the first child of Eugenie and her husband Jack – at the All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park.

The Brooksbank family paid tribute to the old Etonian, 72, in a notice placed in Tuesday’s Daily Telegraph, saying he ‘loved all the good things in life’, most of all his family.
The touching note read: ‘Brooksbank, George. Died on 18th November. Loved all the good things in life but especially his wife, friends, boys, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Private family cremation, memorial details to be announced.’
The poignant reference to grandchildren comes after Mr Brooksbank, the father of Eugenie’s husband Jack, was able to meet baby August, who was born in February.
But Mr Brooksbank, who had been ill for some time, tragically died in the run-up to the family gathering on Sunday. It is said that he never fully recovered after catching coronavirus last year.

August was baptised in a rare double royal christening in Windsor with his second cousin, Lucas – the son of Mike and Zara Tindall – in the presence of the Queen, who has been under doctors’ orders to rest for more than a month.
It is unclear when exactly Eugenie’s visit to Marlborough College took place last week.
The images from the event were posted to Instagram yesterday with the caption: ‘Last week our co-founders, HRH @princesseugenie and Julia de Boinville, visited their old school Marlborough College to speak to the students about the work we do at The Anti-Slavery Collective and how they too can become activists.’

One of the photos is thought to show the friends with their classmates on school picture day – with Eugenie sporting a full fringe.
The second captured Eugenie and Julia smiling at the camera in a close-up photo, taken on what appears to be a beach.
Eugenie was a pupil at Marlborough College from 2003 to 2008, and returned to the school in 2018 to open its newly refurbished Memorial Hall.
