Queen Elizabeth II extended an olive branch to grandson Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, inviting the couple to join the royal family for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations next summer.

The Megxit duo — who ditched their royal duties last year to live in the US — expected to attend the Queen’s official birthday parade, Trooping the Colour, which is part of the four-day festivities to mark her 70 years on the throne, according to The Daily Mail.

However, it’s unclear if Harry, 36, and Markle, 39, will appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony beside the Queen and other senior royals for the traditional Royal Air Force flyover, the report said.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited and I’m sure the Queen is very much looking forward to seeing them there,” a royal source told the UK tabloid.

“The balcony moment will be decided much nearer the time but there’s a limit to how many family members should be on it, and I would have thought that working Royals who contribute to the family would be higher on the list than the Sussexes,” the source added.

Prince Charles, who has said he will slim down the monarchy as king, is thought to support a reduced presence on the balcony, but supporters of Harry and Meghan would likely see a snub as evidence that the couple’s claims of mistreatment from the royals are valid, according to the outlet.

Harry most recently returned to England for his grandfather Prince Phillip’s funeral, and did not spend one-on-one time with his dad Charles, according to reports.

He is expected to return to the UK next week to dedicate a statue of his mother Princess Diana. Charles is expected to be holed up at his Scottish estate during the ceremony.
