Rufus Sewell doesn’t mind getting “Old.”

“I don’t want to overstate here or ask for trouble, but I’m not afraid of aging,” the English actor, 53, told Page Six at the premiere for M. Night Shyamalan’s new thriller “Old” on Monday.

“I’m not somebody who wants to look younger than I am. I quite like being 53. I wasn’t that sorted out when I was younger,” he said.

Working on “Old” afforded Sewell plenty of time to come to grips with both his present and future face: Being aged the approximately 20 years needed for his role took six hours in the makeup chair.

“You get used to these new wrinkles and then I’d forget which were me and which was the makeup,” he said. But at the end of each shoot, when he removed his latex prosthetic makeup he was that much more grateful for his age.

“I’d look in the mirror and I’d go, ‘Aw I’m adorable. Look at my 53-year-old face,’” he joked, adding, “It was a kind of daily lesson in gratitude.”

And the actor also expressed how coming out of quarantine to film “Old” also taught him gratitude.

“I’d come out of a long period of not working, like a lot of people, in my home, trying to make the best of a very limited kind of situation, to telling the story of some people who really [should], if they could, just learn to be grateful for the moment they’ve got,” he said.

“The lesson I’ve learned over the year is, try to appreciate the day you’re in because you know, time stopped for everyone [in the movie].”

“Old” — starring Sewell, Gael García Bernal, and Vicky Krieps — follows the story of a vacationing family who discovers that they’re somehow aging at a rapidly accelerated pace while on a lonely beach.

The film is based on the graphic novel “Sandcastle” by Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters.
