Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola fueled breakup rumors on Wednesday by ditching her engagement ring from Christian Biscardi in an Instagram video showcasing her partnership with a tanning mousse company.
While the 34-year-old “Jersey Shore” star was quick to answer fan questions about the product and like supportive comments, she avoided answering questions about her relationship status.
Giancola and Biscardi sparked breakup rumors earlier this week by unfollowing each other on social media. The reality star then deleted all of her photos with her fiancé, while Biscardi deleted photos of the couple prior to 2019 (the year he proposed).
“I’m completely overwhelmed with happiness,” Giancola gushed after Biscardi’s March 2019 proposal. “Yesterday was the best day of my life! I get to marry my other half, best friend and soulmate. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you @_biscardi I love you!!”
The couple began dating in 2017 and were set to tie the knot in September 2020. Their nuptials were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, Us Weekly reported in April 2020.
Before she was set to walk down the aisle with Biscardi, Giancola famously dated her “Jersey Shore” castmate Ronnie Ortiz-Magro from 2009 until 2012, with their rollercoaster relationship storyline central to the MTV hit.
Giancola explained in March 2018 that she chose not to return to “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” to “avoid potentially toxic situations,” a statement fans assumed was largely directed towards Ortiz-Magro, who was recently arrested for domestic violence following an incident with his new girlfriend Saffire Matos.
“I have chosen not to join the show this season because I am at a completely different place in my life right now focusing on my businesses and my relationship,” Giancola wrote.
“I am not the same as I was when I was 22,” she added. “At 31, I am currently extremely happy in every aspect of my life and want to avoid potentially toxic situations. However, it was a difficult decision as I love my roomies. I’ve decided to focus on me, my future and what truly makes me happy.”
Giancola’s rep didn’t immediately get back to us.
