Savannah Chrisley admitted her mom is “scared” being in federal prison — but is keeping her head held high.

Julie Chrisley is behind bars at FPC Lexington in Kentucky and is having a “harder” experience than her incarcerated husband, Todd Chrisley.

“But she’s just staying busy. You know, like, she’s trying to do anything and everything, take classes, [be] first at bat — everything known to man that she can do, she does,” said Savannah, 25, on her “Unlocked” podcast this week.

Savannah explained that her mom is “trying to stay busy” and focus on her health to keep her mind occupied as she carries out her seven-year sentence.

“I think she’s trying to shield us from a lot of things,” Savannah explained. “Because that’s my mom. That’s who she is.”

The “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens!” actress said her mom “sticks to herself” and keeps a daily diary in the form of letters that she’s been mailing to Savannah. In the notes, which Savannah said she would one day share, Julie details how much she misses her Todd.

“I don’t think there’s a single letter that goes by that she does not say how much she misses my dad. They don’t get to talk,” Savannah explained. “So it’s going on what month are we? April?

“We’re like three, four, four months in, almost,” she continued. “Being together almost 30 years now and not going a day without speaking to now, going on four months is a lot.”

Julie, 50, and Todd, 54, began their prison sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion simultaneously on Jan. 17; however, Todd is locked up in Florida and has to serve a 12-year sentence — nearly double the length of his wife’s tenure.

They’re in the process of appealing the court’s ruling.

“I mean, it was tough to see the accounts of her day and just things that she’s scared of or nervous about or just all the thoughts that go through her mind,” Savannah shared on her podcast.

“And not having my dad there with her. That’s the biggest thing.”

The USA Network stars were indicted in August 2019 on charges that they submitted fake documents to banks to secure more than $30 million in loans. Julie was additionally accused of using fake statements to rent a home.

They were found guilty in June 2022.
