Australians have been left baffled over a bizarre swimsuit that leaves very little to the imagination.

The one-piece swimsuit has leg holes cut right up to the ribs and is from online fast fashion retailer Shein.

The $6.95 sleeveless high-cut tank bodysuit’s style is described simply on the Shein website as ‘sexy’.

It features a cute black and white dinosaur print and was designed to wear under pants, shorts, or skirts.

Shoppers have been mocking the outfit after the ad was posted to a popular Facebook group, deeming it unwearable and noting the model’s hipbones have been seemingly photo-shopped out.

‘Why would we wear this? What’s it for? Is this under jeans or bathers? I’m really not sure,’ one shopper queried.

‘That reminds me – I still haven’t flossed today,’ a second laughed.

‘Those with labias need not apply,’ a third joked.

‘Imagine, the whiplash when she tries to pull it away for a scratch,’ wrote another.

Despite the criticism, the garment has a rating of 4.89 out of five from more than 1000 reviews on the Shein website

However there were some who weren’t totally averse to the design saying they ‘love’ the dinosaur print.

Despite the criticism, the garment has a rating of 4.89 out of five from more than 1000 reviews on the Shein website.

‘Would not recommend bending over quickly or any jostling around of any kind really. Nice fabric. Vibrant. Would be terrified to sit down while wearing. Definitely not able to fart in,’ one of the reviews read.

‘This bodysuit is so sexy, I like it so much, and the design is also very nice, but it’s a pity that I’m single,’ said another.
