SHOPPERS are rushing to buy a bargain winter essential that could help you save on energy bills.

Discount store Home Bargains is selling a heated blanket for just £19.

It comes as people across the country are felling the pinch of rising energy bills this winter.

The bargain retailer is selling the Daewoo Heated Blanket in two different sizes, with a regular double size costing just £18.99.

One eager shopper posted the blanket on the deal-finding website, Hot UK Deals.

It quickly gained a 200C heat rating from other shoppers who agreed it was a great price.

The blanket is available both in store and online but is unfortunately sold out online at the moment.

Home Bargains describes the throw as easy to use, and it has three heat settings.

It also comes with safety overheat protection and has a detachable controller.

The double bed sized blanket uses 85W of power.

The blanket also comes in a kingsize which costs £22.99 and uses 120W.

According to Uswitch it costs just 24p to run a 100W electric blanket for one hour a day for seven days.

And if you were to use an electric blanket for one hour a day, every day of the week for a year, it would cost you £12.48 in total.

That means both blankets will keep you cosy during the winter months for less than if you had your radiator on.

This is the cheapest heated blanket we found for this size.

On the Daewoo website itself it has the double listed for £23.99, and Currys is selling the same for this price too.

Of course other blankets are available but we couldn't find any for cheaper than Home Bargains' price.

Dunelm is selling the Russell Hobbs Electric Under Blanket comes in at £32 for a double bed.

Lidl has been selling the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric blanket for £24.99 for a double as one of its middle aisle deals, which means it won't be around forever.

As always, make sure to compare prices online using handy tools like Google shopping.

If you're ordering online remember to factor in delivery costs.

Also, when it comes to heated blankets do bear in mind the number of watts each uses as this will change how much it costs to run and how warm it'll get.
