Sixth Sense most realistic ghost film says expert – but some spirits are ‘jerks’

Ghost encounters are most like the Sixth Sense claims a paranormal expert whose spent 20 years gathering tales of supernatural encounters.

Mike Huberty, 46, owner of American Ghost Walks, has collected stories from people who have had experiences from the 'other side\ and uses them on his tours.

Due to the business operating in 20 cities across the United States, Mike has had no shortage of stories coming his way and is constantly taking calls from people who claim to have seen spirits.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star the dad-of-two said that the stories he receives won't be added to the tours until they're investigated thoroughly.

"If somebody is just making something up, or if it’s just an urban legend, or ‘I heard from my friend’, that’s not compelling," said the Madison, Wisconsin resident.

"I want to talk to people who have had an experience even if it’s not really that exciting.

"What makes it exciting is, even if small things happen, you’re like ‘well that’s really uncanny’."

"There’s more to this world than we can understand or comprehend.

"And it happens in snippets, it doesn’t happen in the movies, like in Ghostbusters when Slimer comes out and eats all the hot-dogs then flies away.

"It happens in these tiny moments where exceptional uncanny things occur.

"Sometimes they can be scary and negative, and sometimes they can be comforting and warm, and people feeling like ‘ok, there is another side and I was visited by it. So I feel less alone in the universe, less worried about death'."

"We don’t claim to have any answers, we just say this is what people report," added Mike "This is what we’ve experienced and write that out.

"I think when people talk about the Sixth Sense.

"Not everybody that the kid in the Sixth Sense saw, had some kind of tragic thing that happened to them.

"But a lot of times it was little things about spirits being lost, and not necessarily scary.

"Sometimes ghosts are just as scared, or more scared than the people that might have seen them. Are they angry, do they want you out of the house?

"Some do, I mean if they were bitter in life, they might be a jerk in death. But, most people are nice, most people are reasonable, you know

"In ghost movies it has be be dramatic."

"One thing about the sixth sense sense, was they weren’t invisible," he said.

"They weren’t floating around and ‘oooooh’, it’s more like if people tell me if they saw a ghost it looks like an actual person.

"When there’s a visual sighting they just say, ‘I just thought it was someone walking down the street, and then I looked back and they were gone.’

"Seeing ghosts I would say is like the Sixth Sense."
