Sky is giving out set-top box upgrades for free – are you eligible? | The Sun

SKY is giving out upgrades to new TV set-top boxes at no cost to customers.

The completely free upgrade is being given out to those who have one of the the older boxes.

This is because certain TV channels such as BBC One and BBC Two are switching their local programming to wholly HD from this month.

That means that Sky customers with the Sky+ set-top boxes won't be able to watch due to them not being geared up for HD.

If you have one of the affected boxes you'll geta message on your screen saying: "The BBC is making all its services available in HD.

"To watch local BBC One programmes, you need to upgrade to HD."
