The top hair colour trend in the celeb world at the moment is buttery blonde, but Strictly Come Dancing pro Dianne Buswell is out to start a craze of her own after dyeing her signature red lengths a punchy orange.

When we say punchy, we mean a bright and bold neon orange, not a subtle peach hue. But the highlighter tone doesn’t seem to faze Dianne, who took to Instagram to show off the new look with her 845,000 followers.

“NEW HAIR ALERT. Orange is the new red,” she writes. “Massive thank you to @harrietmuldoon @zoejclark @vickyhairreinvented @larrykinghair for my amazing new look. I love love love it!”

Accompanying the caption is a gorgeous snap of the dancer lying down on a picnic blanket with her freshly-dyed tresses spread out over the grass.

She’s also uploaded a slow-mo video from her trip to the hair salon, which shows the 32-year-old clashing her hair colour with a block red lipstick.

Dianne’s celeb friends seem to be loving the look, with fellow flame-haired presenter Stacey Dooley commenting: “YESSSS”.

Strictly pro Oti Mabuse showed her excitement at seeing her new colour, saying: “Omg our red princess she’s orange now, you suit any hair colour.”

Neil Jones, another famous redhead, joked: “Now you look like my sister.”

YouTuber Joe Sugg, who Dianne has been dating since the duo reached the finals of Strictly in 2018, commented with some orange love heart emoji

“Thanks for all the love on the orangeness,” Dianne later thanked her fans on her Instagram Stories, and reposted more content from her salon venture.

Dianne went to London’s prestigious Larry King salon for the hair change, and colourist Harriet Muldoon, who usually specialises in blonde transformations, helped her go from red to orange in one sitting (no easy job).

Though blonde is definitely the colour trend of the season, it’s also said that Bridgerton has inspired a demand for “Renaissance red” shades – which can range from burnt coppers to orangey reds.

Dianne has gone more for the vivid end of this scale, but we think she could definitely win a part on Bridgerton season two with her new look (well, maybe if it was set in 2021).
