Dumber than a locomotive.

A Brazilian Superman impersonator’s attempt to mimic stopping a bus backfired epically after the comedian was hit for real by the vehicle. A video of the harebrained stunt has gone viral, the Daily Mail reported.

“It’s a stunt I always do, but this time, it almost turned into an accident,” Luiz Ribeiro de Andrade reportedly told F5 News of the failed feat, which occurred May 30 in Barra dos Coqueiros.

The calamitous 20-second clip shows the 35-year-old comedian standing confidently in the middle of a street while sporting the iconic Man of Steel costume. All of a sudden, the camera pans to a bus speeding down the road towards the wannabe Kryptonian, which he prepares to “halt” with his hand like a scene from the movie “Hancock.”

Andrade’s less-than-super pantomime fails spectacularly when the vehicle plows into his back, sending the seemingly surprised funnyman stumbling forward.

Thankfully the Kal-El clone was apparently unscathed by the accident, as he is later seen strolling nonchalantly down the street.

“Now I’ve seen I really am made of steel,” the comic quipped on camera. In a post-stunt interview with F5 News, Andrade claimed that he “didn’t feel anything” from the collision, which he attributed to a “miracle of God,” the Daily Mail reported.

Thankfully, Andrade isn’t throwing the transit company under the bus over the incident. “I take responsibility for everything,” the Superman doppelganger said, adding that he even “went to the bus company so that the driver would not be penalized.” He added that “there was no problem with the brakes” and said he had simply miscalculated the distance of the vehicle.

The bus company, Setransp, subsequently released a statement stressing “the importance of attention to traffic, taking care of all the necessary precautions,” according to F5 News.
