Tesco Clubcard holders must redeem their vouchers today to make savings and avoid disappointment. After today, shoppers with vouchers expiring on May 31, will miss out on the chance to use them.

After being issued in November 2018, Tesco extended the vouchers last year after many were unable to use them due to the pandemic.

Clubcard vouchers usually last two years from the date they are issued.

However, Tesco has said that these coupons are to expire today, meaning customers have one last chance to redeem them.

Paper vouchers will be accepted at tills as well as those using the vouchers on the app or on the website.

When the supermarket giant extended the vouchers last November, it explained the change to customers.

Tesco said: “Clubcard vouchers with an extended expiry date will continue to work the same way as they do today.

“They’ll be accepted online, in-store and with Reward Partners.

“The expiry dates will be updated in your Clubcard app and in your online account; paper vouchers will be accepted at the checkout in store.”

How does Tesco’s Clubcard work?

Every £1 spent on groceries gives customers one Clubcard point.

Vouchers can be used to save money in store, online and on fuel at Tesco filling stations as well as Esso sites with a Tesco Express.

They can also be used to save money on holidays, personal breakdown cover and eating out.

If points and vouchers are not used by their expiry date, they are lost and cannot be refunded.

These vouchers aren’t the only ones being extended by the supermarket.

Those with Clubcard points issued in May 2019 now have until November 31 to use these up.

Earlier this month, a spokesperson for the supermarket’s UK Customer Engagement Centre said: “We know that you may not have been able to use your Clubcard vouchers as you planned recently.

“So, as a little help from Clubcard, you’ve got extra time to spend your vouchers which were due to expire on May 31, 2021.

“Any vouchers issued in May 2019 won’t expire until November 30, 2021, giving you an extra six months to use them.

“We’ll update the expiry date on your digital vouchers, and we’ll continue to accept paper vouchers in store until the extended expiry date.

“Whether you’re planning to save on our BBQ range or treating yourself to something special, we hope this helps.”

In other Tesco news, the supermarket has started a trial of a new rapid delivery service at its Willenhall Express store in Wolverhampton.

Customers will be able to receive their groceries in less than an hour, according to the supermarket.

Chris Poad, Online Managing Director at Tesco, said: “Customers are telling us that they would welcome the addition of a 60-minute delivery to their door option as part of our online grocery service.

“We’ll use the pilot to understand how Whoosh could work best for both our customers and our colleagues.”
