There's a new lime and CUCUMBER-flavoured Sprite and we don't know how we feel about it

SPRITE has been given a refreshing makeover with a new cucumber flavour – but we're not sure what to make of it.

The cans of fizzy pop normally have a citrus flavour but the new ones have been given a cucumber twist.

Sprite say they've been inspired by restaurants who add a slice of cucumber to the water to give it a cooling taste.

And while we love the lemon and lime taste of the original flavour, we don't know if cucumber belongs in our cans.

It's a "no sugar" version of the drink too, which means it has no calories or artificial flavours too.

The flavour is new this year and you'll be able to buy in 330ml cans, 500ml and two-litre bottles and will be exempt from the sugar tax.

It comes in two litre (RRP £1.85), 500ml (RRP £1.25) bottles and 330ml cans (RRP 79p) and multipacks of six cans cost £3.19.

You can already buy the new Sprite flavour from Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose.

Coca-Cola – the big brand behind Sprite – is relaunching the product, and they've hinted that there could be more flavours on the way.

It's not the only brand to make a cucumber flavoured sparkling drink. You can buy 750ml bottles of Qcumber sparkling cucumber water at Ocado for £1.94.

But if we break it down into 100ml, it will cost you almost 26p compared to 16p of Sprite. Plus, you'll be getting that extra zesty kick.

Sugary drinks have taken a hit recently at the UK introduced a sugar tax that came into effect on April 6.

Some brands like Ribena decided to change their recipes to avoid the tax – although fans were not impressed.

Others, like Coca-Cola, reduced the size of the cans as well as putting up prices.
