Disney+ is conjuring up a sequel to its beloved 1993 film “Hocus Pocus,” and Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will be back as the spooky Sanderson Sisters.
The film, directed by “The Proposal” and “27 Dresses” veteran Anne Fletcher, will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in 2022.
“Now more than ever, people need to laugh,” Fletcher said in a statement. “We should be laughing every day, and there is so much fun to be had with these three unbelievable women playing delicious characters from such a beloved film.”
She added, “This is a movie for everyone, from the fans who grew up with the first film to the next generation of viewers, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Parker also shared the announcement on her Instagram, writing, “Yep. I’m ready. To run. Amok, amok, amok, amok.🕯️ #HocusPocus2 arrives Fall 2022 on @disneyplus Sisters??? X, SJ”

Adam Shankman of “The Wedding Planner” called the shots on the original “Hocus Pocus” and will serve as an executive producer on the sequel.
A subscription to Disney+ costs $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year, and a bundle consisting of Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ costs $13.99 per month.
