‘If you’re tired of waiting for clothes to dry, try this super fast drying hack,’ Carolina posted on Instagram.

‘If you add a clean, dry towel at the beginning of your drying cycle, then start the dryer, the towel helps to absorb moisture.’

Carolina added that you should remove the towel after 15 minutes, and this will cut your drying time by 30 per cent.

Thousands who saw the simple trick were impressed and said they’d definitely give it a go at home.

‘Wow, where have I been,’ one woman wrote.

‘Great tip – this will save me so much time,’ another added.

Others shared their own laundry shortcuts including how to get wrinkles out of clothes:

‘If your clean clothes are wrinkled because you didn’t hang them up or fold yet, you can toss into the dryer with a clean damp washcloth or hand towel and tumble dry to steam out the wrinkles,’ one woman wrote.

Previously, Carolina shared her simple guide for doing perfect laundry – including the products she uses to leave clothes smelling beautifully fresh.

The first thing Carolina did was added a few drops of essential oils to wool dryer balls – a method she insisted would leave your clothes smelling ‘amazing’ after a wash.

After every cycle, she suggested leaving the washing machine door and detergent tray open to allow moisture to escape to prevent build-up of grime and mould.

To effectively remove stains, Carolina said you need to ‘catch them as quick as possible’ by soaking the marks in stain remover and a paper towel before throwing it in the wash.

Instead of leaving clean laundry lying around in a basket for days or even weeks, she suggested folding the clothes ‘right away to prevent wrinkling’.

Last year, an Australian repair technician warned people to never leave the washer door closed when it’s not in use because it causes bacteria and mould to breed.

‘The first thing I tell people when I’m called out to a job is to start leaving the doors on their washing machines open when they’re not using it. Keeping it closed for hours and days on end can cause all sorts of problems,’ he wrote on Facebook.

‘It’s the mould and grime build-up, which is your biggest problem. A lot of people have to change the seal on their machines due to a scum and build-up and that can be largely avoided or prolonged by keeping the door open.

‘Your big problem is warm water being trapped in there. If the door’s closed, then bacteria and mould can breed and no-one wants that.’
