Tiger Woods Set To Make Comeback At The $1 Million Tournament Alongside His Son, Charlie

Tiger Woods will be making his competitive comeback to golf next week at the $1 million tournament with his son, Charlie. Woods has stopped participating in golf tournaments after he suffered serious leg injuries in a car accident earlier this year. The father and son will be playing at the PNC Championship which will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando in Grande Lakes.

On his interview on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, Woods describes the series of events challenging and he is very excited to leave past the traumatic experience and move on. It has been a long and difficult year for Woods and he is closing doors to negativity by competing in the PNC Championship with his beloved son, Charlie. He says that he will be playing as a Dad and could not contain his excitement to see his son enjoy the sports they both love.

In his interview with the Golf Digest late last month, he stated that his full time golfer days are over after the car incident. This was the first time he has spoken publicly about the future of his career since his car accident in February. He said that he needs to be realistic about expectations of the future. He knows that he can still play the tour one day but he will never again play the sports in full time. He just needs to pick and choose which tournament to participate in.

Woods already accepted his fate that he can no longer play as he used to be. He just He will be choosing few events a year but does not plan to play all year round. He plans to practice around that and needs to gear himself up for the coming tournaments. He knows that it is how he will be going to play from now on.

The tournament that he will join in features 20 major champions and their relatives to compete for a total prize of $1,085,000. PNC Championship will be held for two days with a 36-hole tournament for Willie Park Trophy. Last year the tournament was won by the tandem, Justin Thomas and his father Mike. The executive chairman of the tournament, IMG’s Alastair Johnston, said that he is very excited to confirm that Tiger and Charlie Woods will indeed be participating in this year’s PNC Championship. The organizers have been liaising with Woods and his team for quite some time now and it would be a perfect event for Woods to have a comeback in the golf sports.
