Accountant
The term accountant may have a regular everyday meaning which is associated with mathematics, but TikTok users are not hinting at numbers when they use the phrase on the site.
On the platform, accountant is a codeword for a sex worker.
The term is used for those who work in pornography, as sugar babies and those who publish content on OnlyFans.
The TikTok meaning began after a sound by user @rockysroad went viral where the actor stated that he calls himself an "accountant" instead of telling people what he does for a living.
BBL
BBL stands for Brazillian Bum Lift, a form of surgery where a doctor transfers fat from your abdomen, hips, lower back, or thighs to your buttocks.
The term has been used by TikTok users as they share their body transformations on the site calling it 'the BBL effect'.
Bussin'
Bussin' is used frequently on the platform to describe something as really good.
Cheugy
Cheugy is a form of Gen-Z slang that is used to describe something as outdated or tacky.
Caught in 4K
If you were to 'catch someone in 4K', that means a reaction has been captured on camera.
DC
DC, which stands for dance credits, is often used in TikTok captions to give credit to a creator.
DNI
DNI stands for do not interact and is often used by those who create content aimed at those who are 18+.
FYP
FYP stands for the for you page, which is the homepage on TikTok where you can find videos from creators.
Hot Girl Summer
Hot Girl Summer is a term that was originally coined by rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
The phrase is used by those who state that they will be dating numerous people and partying during the summer season.
Heather
Heather has a few meanings on the social media platform.
The first meaning refers to 80's movie Heathers, which features a group of wealthy students. This can have negative connotations as it can imply that someone is a 'mean girl'.
Another meaning of Heather is derived from Conan Gray's single where he refers to a girl of the same name as someone who is attractive.
IB
IB, which stands for inspired by, is often used by creators who have taken inspiration from others on the platform.
Mid
Mid is used to describe someone as average looking, or to describe something as mediocre.
OOMPH

Shadowbanned is where a creator's videos have been removed from search and FYP's but are still technically allowed on the app.
Sneaky link
The phrase sneaky link is used to refer to someone that you are having sex with whilst trying to keep the relationship on the down low.
Straight TikTok
Straight TikTok is used as a derogatory term to refer to mainstream TikTok which includes creators such as Charli D'Amelio and Addison Rae.
W
W is a term that is used by TikTokkers to describe a win. If someone comments 'W' on a post, it usually means they are congratulating someone.
4Lifers
The phrase 4Lifers went viral following a video by creator @boobackbaby where rapper and producer Lucki is seen saying “what we is? 4lifersss!”
The term means a group of friends, siblings or family members who will always be around.
