POUNDLAND

The 22-year-old worked for the bargain shop Poundland for three months in 2015 as a Christmas temp.

In one TikTok video, she revealed she had many situations where customers take the name of the shop very literally – and got utterly confused when an item is any more than £1.

Meanwhile she also explained that some shoppers even thought their entire basket of items would cost £1.

In another clip shared to Holly’s TIkTok, she explained how one customer told her they weren’t happy to pay £30 for £30 worth of items.

The 22-year-old, who worked for the bargain shop Poundland for three months in 2015 as a Christmas temp, has shared her stories from behind the tills of the bargain shop

She explained she responded: ‘Maybe you could put some back? I don’t know, it’s just the total of your shopping?’

Holly went on to reveal that the customer had then demanded to speak to her manager, who came to the till straight away.

While Holly and the manager watched on in shock, the customer asked for the prices for each of the items to be cut down to just 50p.

She said he then claimed ‘Tesco would probably be cheaper’ before putting all of  his shopping back.

He then walked out of the shop without buying a thing.

Other retail workers admitted they were left in stitches over her videos, with one writing: ‘If I hadn’t worked in retail, I wouldn’t have believed stuff like this ever happened.’

Another explained: ‘I work in a Poundland and the maximum transaction I’ve seen is £347.’

A third added: ‘As someone who worked in Poundland for 3.5 years, I can confirm this was a regular occurrence.’

Many users who also worked for the retail company related to Holly’s content, with Michael Mousey McMah saying he could ‘confirm this was a regular occurrence’

DOMINO’S PIZZA

The 22-year-old also shared an insight into her time working as a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver, explaining that she would often take the brunt of the customer’s anger if the dish had taken too long.

And whether it was a missing packet of sauce or box of chicken bites on the side –  she said she dealt with many frustrated customers at their front doors.

In one TikTok video, she claimed she had to deal with one situation ‘so many times’.

She explained how she would arrive at an address and approach the person who opened the door to hand them the pizza.

The 22-year-old also shared an insight into her time working as a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver, explaining that she would often take the brunt of the customer’s anger if the dish had taken too long (left and right)

She revealed how often, if a man opened the door, he would explain that the house hadn’t ordered a pizza.

However his wife or girlfriend would then appear behind him and claim the pizza as hers – adding that she ‘didn’t want her partner to know.’

In one clip, she explained how diners would also get frustrated if they weren’t given a sauce alongside their pizza order.

However fellow ex and current Domino’s Pizza delivery team members said she was supposed to bring the sauce, and it wasn’t a mistake of the kitchen.

One person wrote: ‘I mean technically it’s the driver’s responsibility to double check they have all their items including the sauce!’

Another hilarious TikTok tale from Holly saw her explaining how a customer had tried to pay with their credit card which was bent in half.

She revealed how she was unable to make the card work – even when she tapped it against the machine.

TikTok user Jasper had a similar situation, and commented on the post: ‘Someone paid with half a card in my work, it was snapped in half and I’ve never been so confused, you couldn’t even see it once they put it in.’

Dheanasaur said: ‘Haha amazing, as a fellow ex Domino’s driver I know there’s literally so many stories I could and will tell.’

Other social media users have been left in hysterics over Holly’s videos depicting their workplaces

SPORTS DIRECT

In one of her most popular videos, Holly acted out a time when she was putting a transaction through for a customer while working for Sports Direct.

In the two-part clip, which has 8.9million views altogether, she explained how she was required to upsell bags and magazines to shoppers while working on the till.

She said the store had to hit a target of bags and magazine sales each day, and so she asked the customer if she’d like both.

However she explained how the customer was left annoyed by the interaction.

In one of her most popular videos, Holly acted out a time when she was putting a transaction through for a customer while working for Sports Direct and was told off by her manager for not upselling

The clip then cut to her manager asking if she had sold any bags and magazines that day, with Holly confessing she had not.

According to Holly, the boss decided it wasn’t not good enough, and they would be monitoring her for the rest of the queue.

She claimed the manager went on to tell shoppers to buy the bags and magazines, ordering Holly to do the same.

Many other social media users reacted in horror  at the video, with one writing: ‘I absolutely refuse to “up sell” anything I was told to. Customers want what they want and not to be bothered for extra items.’

Another added: ‘Why I don’t go in Sports Direct because their customer service is the worst, and it’s not staff’s fault.

‘It’s the way they are told to do it.’

In another video about her time at the sports shop, she said a customer questioned the policy of counting the number of items allowed into the changing rooms.

After Holly tried to reinforce the rules by saying she didn’t want to get in trouble with her manager, the customer went on to steal items on her way out of the store.

TikTok users shared their frustration with Holly, with some ex-retail workers agreeing that upselling was not fun

WILKO

In another video shared by the content creator, Holly explained how she had been left looking after one customer’s child during a shift.

She revealed how a customer told her she needed to run back to the aisles for a few extra bits she had forgotten before reaching Holly, the cashier.

She left the child with Holly, leaving her feeling awkward as she watched those waiting in the queue giving her frustrated looks.

In another video shared by the content creator, Holly explained how she had been left looking after one customer’s child during a shift

Meanwhile she claimed another customer shockingly came into the store after testing positive for Covid-19 –  and came to Holly for some help on where to find the shampoo.

She asked the ex-Wilko worker: ‘Uh, excuse me, I’m in a really big rush because I’ve got Covid, but could you show me where the shampoos are please?’

Holly, shocked, replied: ‘Sorry, did you say you’ve got Covid? Sorry but I don’t think you should be in the store.’

The customer, who wasn’t wearing a face mask and kept getting closer to the 22-year-old, responded: ‘Well, how else do you expect me to get my shampoo?’

The rest of their interaction was a back-and-forth of the customer not understanding why she shouldn’t be out in public while testing positive for Covid – and continued to get frustrated when they couldn’t get the help in finding the aisle for shampoo.
