Tiny house costing £16,640 can be folded up and takes just 3 hours to build

A collection of foldable tiny houses are being sold for as little as €18,700 (£16,640) and snazzy footage shows how they can be put up and down again with ease.

In the video, the house is shown being transported in its flat-packed state to an idyllic forest location where it is unloaded and put together effortlessly with the help of a small crane.

The house, which has been painted an attractive hue of red, can be built in just a matter of hours, according to Latvian company Brette Haus who designs and sell them.

On the ground floor of the 22 square meter version, there is an open plan kitchen, living room, and dining room as well as a separate bathroom with another space for a toilet, sink, and walk-in shower.

Upstairs is a double bedroom, with the plans showing a double bed against the wall as well as two armchairs and a large wardrobe.

Accompanying the advert, the company said: "Cabins by Brette Haus could be installed on a site under three hours including connection to the mains.

"This type of transforming house is the perfect solution for hospitality in tourism, event, agriculture and construction industries.

"Brette Haus offers you an opportunity to own low-impact, expandable cabins suitable for versatile purposes."

Although the tiny houses only have a 24-month warranty, Brette Haus says the life cycle can be extended by controlling the humidity inside the wooden building.

"Proper air circulation and regular coating maintenance will extend the life span significantly," it says on its website.

The tiny house can be folded for up to "100 cycles", according to Brette Haus who recommends them as a home office or garden house and it seems like a bargain when you compare to the price of building a house from scratch.

Unfortunately, it's not going to appreciate in value as you might expect of a typical brick and mortar home.

To connect any house to mains services such as water, sewers, electricity, telephone, and gas, you can expect to pay around £10,000 according to homebuilding.co.uk.
