A transgender woman who can drastically change her appearance with the power of make-up has said she’s ‘proud’ to be labelled a catfish, because her glamorous looks make her feel ‘amazing’.
Jocelyn Reed, 22, from Liverpool, Merseyside, stuns people with her dramatic makeup transformations that have led to her being called a catfish.
The term comes from a popular MTV show about people luring others into relationships by creating a fake online persona, that usually makes them look more attractive than they really are.
She has been told that she is the reason girls should be taken swimming on a first date because of how she can change her appearance with cosmetics.
The 22-year-old loves to wear glamorous looks and it can take up to two hours for her to complete them.

Jocelyn said: ‘I used to be scared to show my face without any makeup because I hated when people picked out my flaws and things that I can’t really change.
‘But I have now accepted that they’re part of who I am and it doesn’t really bother me anymore.
‘I have always loved makeup, but since I came out as trans when I was 21 I have been focusing on my catfish transformations.

The 22-year-old, pictured, said that when she was 16 she began to borrow her mother’s makeup and play around with it
Jocelyn, pictured, said that by the time she was 18 she was trying out drag looks and posting them on social media
‘When I was around 16, I started borrowing my mum’s make-up and playing about with it.
‘By the time I was 18, I was trying out drag looks and posting them on social media.
‘During the lockdowns I started dressing more feminine and growing my natural hair out and this is when I started practicing my more natural makeup looks as opposed to the drag looks I was used to doing.
‘There is nothing wrong with being a catfish because I love make-up and it makes me feel amazing.’

The 22-year-old added that she enjoys full glam makeup looks and full coverage foundation.
She said: ‘I love full-glam looks because they are so drastic and shocking and make me look so much more snatched.
‘My favourite step is contouring because you can completely redesign the shape of your face. It’s amazing.
‘I love that makeup can be used to build your confidence and make you feel so much better about yourself.

‘I also love full coverage foundation because I suffer from acne and scarring. So I can go from red and imperfect skin to looking like I have amazing flawless skin’, she said.
‘I constantly get comments about being a catfish but I just take it on the chin.
‘People say that my make-up is the reason you should take girls swimming on a first date and that makeup should be illegal.
‘They also say one wipe and it’s over.’
