Identical twins who share a fiancé have revealed they want to get pregnant at the same time – with some baffled This Morning viewers branding it ‘creepy’.
Sisters Anna and Lucy Decinque, 35, from Perth, cannot live apart and dedicate their life to dressing and acting the same, going as far as dating the same man, named Ben, for the past 11 years.
The two sisters, who say they have a doctor’s note stating they can’t be apart, are hoping to get pregnant at the same time to raise their children together, and told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that they want to be each other’s children’s mothers.
The pair, who star in Extreme Sisters on TLC in Australia, said that they would not expect their children to be identical, but would be raising them together.
While the sisters said they are happy living this way and ‘not hurting anyone,’ viewers were left disturbed by their story.
Sisters Anna and Lucy Decinque, 35, from Perth, cannot live apart and dedicate their life to dressing and acting the same, and now are trying to get pregnant at the same time
Speaking from Perth, Lucy and Anna said that they know they cannot control how and when they get pregnant, but added they hope to be able to do it at the same time.
‘We can’t live without each other, we can’t be apart – if its possible we’d like to be pregnant together,’ Anna said. ‘At the end of the day, it’s how we chose to live our life and we’re happy to live like that.’
The sisters are so determined to do everything together that they have been sharing the same boyfriend, named Ben, for 11 years.
Ben is a twin himself, which Lucy and Anna said helps him ‘understand them’ and their needs.
Asked whether they think Ben feels pressure to get both of them pregnant at the same time, Anna joked: ‘It’s double the love for Ben.
‘He understands that we need to be the same, we need to do everything together, he understands us, there’s no pressure, he just understands,’ Lucy said.
‘He understand our closeness, we need to be together 24/7, he totally understands us,’ Anna said.
Lucy nodded, adding: ‘He gets us more than we get ourselves. We found our everything, we’re so thankful that we found Ben.’
The pair went as far as dating the same man and are engaged to their fiancé Ben, who they’ve known for the past 11 years
This Morning’s viewers said the twins’ interview on the show left them feeling ‘frazzled’ and disturbed
The pair said they would be happy if only one of them gets pregnant.
‘We’ll be there for each other, we’d try to make the other one pregnant as soon as possible,’ Lucy said.
The identical twins also added they wouldn’t try to make their children look or act the same.
‘As long as the child is happy and healthy, that’s all that matters,’ Lucy said. ‘We’ll both be the mums, Ben would be the dad, so they would have two mums and one father,’ she added.
The twins weigh the food they eat and wake up to eat at the same time to have the same bowel movements.
The pair spend all of their time together and weigh their food in order to make sure they are eating exactly the same
The two sisters have admitted they know they can’t control when and how they get pregnant, but are still hoping to get pregnant at the same time
They suggested they would be feeding their future children the same foods as they grow up.
However, they told Phil and Holly that they understand that their children might look different or might have different taste than their cousin.
Both twins are engaged to Ben and hoping to tie the knot, however, polygamy is not legal in Australia.
‘Our plan is to research where to get married,’ Anna said.
Lucy said she feels it’s ‘unfair’ that the throuple cannot be wed in Australia. ‘We’d like to celebrate our love with Ben, in the future,’ she added.
Anna agreed that she and Lucy are thinking of going overseas in order to get married with Ben in a country were it is legal to have multiple spouses.
The twins have been dating Ben for 11 years. A twin himself, Ben ‘understands’ the women’s need to be together 24/7, they said
The pair said that there is no jealousy between them. ‘If Ben kisses Anna, he’ll kiss me straight away,’ Lucy said. ‘He doesn’t want to separate us, it’s all equal in this relationship, he treats us the same,’ she added.
The twins are currently unemployed, and said they can’t work without one another and would need their employer to understand this.
‘We need to find an employer that understands our bond, accepts who we are, understands the way we work,’ Anna said.
‘We’re hardworking girls, we come as a package, we work well as a team, we function as a team, we don’t work separately,’ Lucy agreed.
The pair also claimed they have a doctor’s note stating they cannot be apart and only come as a ‘package’ deal.
The sisters said they are used to ignoring the mean-spirited people who troll them online.
‘We’re happy as we are, we’re not hurting anyone, and we’re sharing our story with the world – I’m blessed to have Anna as my best friend’, Lucy said.
Having their babies at the same time is particularly important to the two women who like to do everything together.
‘When she goes to the toilet, I come with her; when she has a shower, I come with her,’ Anna told the New York Post. ‘You name it and we do it. We’re never apart. I don’t think we’d function without each other. We have separation anxiety. We’re bound to each other.’
The DeCinque twins are showcasing their extraordinarily interconnected lives in the American TLC network’s new reality TV series, Extreme Sisters.
The programme – which chronicles the lives and relationships of the DeCinques and four other sets of siblings – launched in the States on Monday and will hit Australian streaming services later this year.
‘We were ready to showcase our love story,’ Lucy told Confidential. ‘We are the show to be quite honest, I don’t think there’s anyone more extreme than the two of us.’
This Morning’s viewers were left baffled by Lucy and Anna’s sisterly bond, especially the fact that the pair like to finish each other sentences.
‘Weird watching them talk at the same time. My head’s frazzled,’ one said. ‘Do they really need to talk as if they know what the other is going to say,’ another wrote.
‘Blimey these twins are something else and that’s all I’m saying,’ another said. One just wrote: ‘weird people’, as the twins’ interview came to a close. ‘I’m sorry, this is creepy,’ another said.
Viewers said they were frazzled by the twins, with some saying they were ‘weird’ and ‘creepy’ as they appeared on This Morning today
