Which Premier League team has the most favourable fixtures in April?

We are legally obligated to describe the remaining section of the season as ‘the business end’.

April hosts European knockout games, FA Cup semi-finals and the Carabao Cup final, among the usual Premier League action.

Dream Team gaffers will have their transfers refreshed this Friday and they will need to take into account the upcoming fixtures before deciding on which changes to implement.

Here’s a breakdown of April’s fixtures for each of the clubs in the top half…

MAN CITY

  • Leicester (a)
  • Borussia Dortmund (h)
  • Leeds (h)
  • Borussia Dortmund (a)
  • Chelsea (n)
  • Aston Villa (a)
  • Spurs (n)

Seven games for the team chasing trophies on four fronts.

Rotation is inevitable but with such a busy schedule, all of City’s big-hitters will get their fair share of minutes.

Four consecutive games away from the Etihad at the end of the month shouldn’t be too much of a concern given their current form — Wembley is virtually a second home for them these days anyway.

MAN UNITED

  • Brighton (h)
  • Granada (a)
  • Spurs (a)
  • Granada (h)
  • Burnley (h)
  • Leeds (a)

Nothing here should prompt Dream Team bosses to abandon their loyalty to Bruno Fernandes (£4.9m) and company.

The Red Devils have been handed a favourable draw in the Europa League and Spurs are their only top-half opponent in the league.

LEICESTER

  • Man City (h)
  • West Ham (a)
  • Southampton (n)
  • West Brom (h)
  • Crystal Palace (h)

A tough start to the month is balanced out by an enticing end with two fixtures that could produce a deluge of points.

The Foxes have been comparatively consistent this season having never been out of the top four — their injury list is the thing to keep an eye on.

CHELSEA

  • West Brom (h)
  • Porto (a)
  • Crystal Palace (a)
  • Porto (h)
  • Man City (n)
  • Brighton (h)
  • West Ham (a)

Chelsea have the same number of games as Man City in April and are in similarly impressive form.

Thomas Tuchel has installed a watertight defence and the Blues will be hopeful of at least another three clean sheets before May.

Mason Mount (£3.5m) could be a smart midfield option going forward.

WEST HAM

  • Wolves (a)
  • Leicester (h)
  • Newcastle (a)
  • Chelsea (a)

A lack of extracurricular activities will help the Hammers focus on their quest for Champions League qualification but having just four fixtures may limit their Dream Team returns.

The likes of Tomas Soucek (£3.5m) and Jesse Lingard (£3.0m) have been in good form but it will be tough for them to match the top midfielders a limited schedule that includes two games against top-four teams.

LIVERPOOL

  • Arsenal (a)
  • Real Madrid (a)
  • Aston Villa (h)
  • Real Madrid (h)
  • Leeds (a)
  • Newcastle (h)

Real Madrid are more vulnerable now than past iterations but it’s still difficult to predict how that blockbuster Champions League quarter-final will play out.

The Reds’ league fixtures are far from straight forward too, though you’d expect them to beat Newcastle comfortably.

Arsenal, Aston Villa and Leeds all have the capacity to upset teams above them in the league on their day — let’s not forget Villa beat Liverpool 7-2 earlier in the campaign.

EVERTON

  • Crystal Palace (h)
  • Brighton (a)
  • Spurs (h)
  • Arsenal (a)

An almost identical situation to West Ham.

You wouldn’t bet against Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£4.2m) liberally adding to his tally but clever Dream Team bosses probably won’t be stacking their teams full of Toffees in April.

ARSENAL

  • Liverpool (h)
  • Slavia Prague (h)
  • Sheffield United (a)
  • Slavia Prague (a)
  • Fulham (h)
  • Everton (h)

There’s considerable potential for points during the middle section of the month with a favourable Europa League tie interspersed with league match-ups against relegation favourites.

But Mikel Arteta’s side are calamitous one moment and brilliant the next, as best evidenced by their 3-3 draw with West Ham before the international break.

It all depends which Arsenal to you think will show up.

ASTON VILLA

  • Fulham (h)
  • Liverpool (a)
  • Man City (h)
  • West Brom (h)

Again, having just four fixtures is the biggest turn-off here, especially when one of them is against Man City.

However, Jack Grealish (£4.5m) is expected to return to the side after spending a few weeks on the sidelines and double-digit returns are certainly not beyond him if he resumes normal service.
