Ons Jabeur is one of the biggest tennis stars of the Wimbledon 2023 tournament, having recently defeated Aryna Sabalenka to progress to the women’s singles final against Czech Marketa Vondrousova.
As she hopes to become the first African and Arab woman to be a Slam singles champion, the tennis favourite Ons, 28, has gained an overnight fandom.
And as the Tunisian Tennis ace’s stardom grows, we take a look at her life both on and off the pitch, including her marriage to doting husband Karim Kamoun, whom she wed in 2015.
Husband Karim dedicates much of his life to ensuring that Ons can live out her dreams, even taking on the role as her full-time trainer.
But the busy pair still seem to have time for plenty of romance too, enjoying relaxing bike rides together and getting dressed up to attend events.
“On the court, I see him as my trainer, and outside the court, he is my husband,” she once told Vogue Arabia 2023, “We still have to make sure we have moments together as a couple.”
Here’s a look inside her life away from the court…
Ons married Karim Kamoun, a former Russo-Tunisian fencer in October 2015. In 2017, he left his career as a fencing coach, so that he could become his wife’s full-time physical trainer. He has a master’s degree in sports science and describes himself as "crazy about fitness training."

In 2015, the tennis star announced the pair had wed with a post on Twitter, alongside a photo from their wedding. She wrote: "Happy To announce that me and Karim just got married," followed by two love-heart emojis.

Ons has spoken about how it can sometimes be difficult having her husband as her professional trainer. She told GQ Middle East: "At the beginning it was tough, and he knows that."
She added: "Because we’re not used to working with each other, and for him to ask me to go to run, it was kind of like an order and I didn’t like it at the beginning."

Karim has supported Ons dreams since days one and she revealed that at the start of her tennis career, her husband would pay for her to be able to afford flights to her tournaments. Despite their busy schedule the pair still make time for each other off the court. Karim is known to love cooking, preparing delicious meals for his wife.

Both Ons and her husband also work with her tennis coach, Issam Jellali. In November 2021, he posted a snap of the three of them together in the gym, captioned, "We are not a team because we work together. We are a team because we respect, trust and care for each other."
