Woman blocks ‘really nice’ date as he refuses to pay extra for cheese on burger

A woman has left the internet divided after she walked out on her Hinge date and blocked him because he refused to pay extra to add cheese to his order.

Dafina, who posts online under the username @dafina_diamant, had arranged a date with a guy she met on Hinge and it supposedly got off to a great start.

The self-declared "NYC babe" claims that he was "really nice" and they were getting on well.

But she apparently walked out on the date after the guy complained to her about the cost of adding cheese to his burger.

In the video, which gained more than 284,000 likes, she explained: "We scheduled to go to dinner. We are sitting at the restaurant, seems very nice, not a catfish. Things are going well.

"The waitress comes over, she wants to take her order. I said, 'okay, I'm gonna take the branzino' and he said, 'I'm gonna take the burger.'"

But according to her, the date started to go downhill from there as the waitress asked him if he would like to add cheese to his burger for an additional $3 (£2.48).

However, he turned it down and during the date complained that "you have to pay extra for everything these days."

But she was confused as to how he was so baffled by that as they are based in New York City.

After her meal, she then told him that she was going to the toilet – but she actually took her bag and told the waitress she'd be covering the bill.

She added: "I just paid the bill and walked out of the restaurant. I texted him 'the check is taken care of, we should have gotten the cheese' and I blocked him."

TikTok viewers were left divided over the video as some people agreed that it was a 'red flag that he refused to pay for the cheese – but others argued that they wouldn't have paid it either.

One user wrote: "He can choose how he wants to spend his money, $3 for a slice of cheese is crazy. He didn’t tell you not to get cheese he just decided not to."

Another argued: "People forget when you’re on a date to make a good impression and complaining about little things means he’ll complain about things later."

A third commented: "$3 for a slice of cheese is criminal!!"

"I like you," a fourth said.
