A young woman who turned to webcamming after being signed off work with stress has earned thousands pretending to be men’s girlfriend.
Emily Kathleen, 27, was worried she’d lose her council flat when she made the career change, but in just a year she’s made £120,000 and lives in a luxe four-bed home.
The cam girl, from Gloucestershire, makes around £8,000 a month – that’s £98,000 a year – which is a huge jump from the £12,000-a-year salary she had as a customer advisor.
On top of taking her kit off, Emily offers a “girlfriend experience” to her fans which means she flirts, talks and builds a relationship up with them.
The cam girl has now set up an agency called High Society Models in May and now has a whopping 546 women working for her.
Emily likes to make her models feel “empowered” and employs women of all shapes and ages to aid them in their quest for “financial freedom”.
Emily said: “Webcamming has completely turned my life around.
“I was practically homeless a few years ago about to lose my council flat.
“I can’t believe where I am now, and I absolutely love what I do – and it helps that I earn really decent money.
“It’s not for everyone, but I found my calling and became my own boss.”
She added: "I want to try and break the stigma around the industry and show how empowering this work can be for women."
Emily was a key worker in the pandemic working at a housing association – but, she found the pressure too much.
The model said: “I have never been ill from stress in my life – it was a very difficult time.
“I had nothing to lose so I thought I’d give webcam modelling a go.
“It was scary leaving my job, but I found something I loved doing.”
Emily would entertain her fans on her laptop from her bedroom – including stripteases and flirting.
On her first night, she made £400 which is more than she earned in a week at her old job.
She said: “I do strip and have fun with them if I feel comfortable.
“I provide a ‘girlfriend experience’ which is about building an online relationship with someone.
“Men are there to speak to an actual person – otherwise they could go and watch porn.
“I would chat to them, flirt and just have a laugh."
Her female-run business now has 529 British models and 17 international women who offer adult service.
Emily said: "I wanted my models to have full control over videos and outfits.
“In webcamming, nudity is preferable but not essential.
"Most important to me is that they feel comfortable and empowered by what they're doing.
"We have women of all shapes and sizes – one of our biggest earners is a size 20 girl.
"We even have couples who do webcamming together.”
Now, Emily is happy and says she’s found her calling.
She noted: "I still can't believe how much I love my job and the fact I'm not living pay cheque to pay cheque anymore.”
