Woman raises boy after neighbour drops son off to go shopping and never returns

A woman who was babysitting a young boy for a neighbour ended up raising him after his mum never returned to pick him up.

Rosalinda shared a video on TikTok explaining the unbelievable story and how it changed their lives.

The incident took place 50 years ago when she was in her early twenties and the boy stayed with her until he turned 18.

In the clip, she says: "In my early twenties I was told after lots of investigations that I would never have children of my own.

"When my next-door neighbour asked me to look after her little boy while she went shopping, I said of course, but she never came back.

"That little boy stayed with me through my marriage that I've spoken about before, until he was 18 when he found his dad and left to start a new life with his father – and maybe his mother, I'm not sure."

Now in her 70s, Rosalinda explains how the event moved her to go into fostering.

She added: "So I decided to become a foster parent. My first foster child was a little boy called Adeola. Over the years I've fostered many children and that led up to me getting my daughter."

The mum adopted Lola in 1990, who is now in her 30s and also sometimes appears in her videos on the social media site.

Rosalinda uses TikTok through the username @mamarosalinda to share stories of her past and details moments that had a major impact on her life.

Her clip has been watched more than 1.5million times and has more than 250,000 likes in the two weeks since it was uploaded.

Her followers were in awe of what she did and responded to her incredible kindness in the comments section.

One user wrote: "You are an angel on Earth! Respect!"

A second person stated: "Those doctors lied to you – you are the mother we all mothers aspire to be – you've changed the world."
