Woman says seagull stealing food from her mouth is ‘a signal to lose weight’

A woman who captured the moment a brazen seagull stole a pastry out of her mouth has taken it as a sign to go on a diet.

Angie, who posts on TikTok as @_angie_thia_, gained more than 439,000 likes on a video of herself eating a sweet treat she bought from Pasteis de Belem, a Portuguese bakery in Lisbon.

But suddenly the bird came swooping down and took it out of her mouth, leaving merely a crumb hanging from her lip.

Joking that it was a sign from God about her eating habits, she wrote in the caption: "When you wait forever in Lisbon for Pasteis de Belem, but God sends you a signal to lose weight."

Viewers found the clip hilarious as they took to the comments claiming the winged thief had nothing but the "audacity" to take it from her.

One user said: "These birds have no shame."

Another wrote: "The audacity."

A third commented: "Wow I can’t believe you caught that on camera."

A fourth, who had visited the area said the same thing happened to her mum, as she added: "My mom also got hers stolen out of her hand in that exact same place."

To which, Angie replied: "I should have eaten it directly in the store."

However, others came up with suggestions of how she should've handled the situation.

One user wrote: "I would spend the rest of my time seeking revenge."

Another suggested: "I mean, it's a block or so behind you so go get a box full!"

A third commented: "I would've cried."

The news came after a woman has shared her ordeal after being ‘stalked’ by a ‘menace’ seagull that hovers by her window at the same time every single day.

Sophia, 19, is studying and living in a student flat but did not realise the residency comes with an extra roommate as every day at 5pm, the teen gets a knock, or should we say peck, at her window from a pesky seagull.

The breed of bird is known for its daring behaviour after recently a ‘psycho’ seagull 'picked' on man and held him hostage in his own home.
