It is not unusual to have a phobia, with spiders and flying among the most common.
However, this one woman has a fear of none other than Michael Jackson.
Yes, you read that right…

As MJ famously sang “something evil's lurking in the dark”, and apparently it’s in the form of his impersonator moonwalking in a bar in Ayia Napa.
The iconic King of Pop has been kept alive with his discography of hit after hit and budget doubles who entertain holidaymakers abroad.
But when Ruby Marriott set out for the night in the Cypriot town, she did not quite expect to see her worst nightmare dancing and hee hee-ing right behind her.
With her phobia triggered, Ruby’s sister Mace documented the moment to see for all on TikTok where the clip has now gone viral.
“Our first night in Ayia Napa took a turn for the worse. My sister has a phobia of Michael Jackson”, Mace explained.
Ruby sobbed at the table as the Michael Jackson wannabe performed just inches away to classic hit Thriller (really fitting for the mood).
High kicking the night away in his red jacket and black trouser ensemble, the impersonator was totally unaware of the horror he had reduced Ruby too.
Her family can be heard in the background offering words of support as her eyes welled with tears and fright.
Although Ruby was crying tears of fear, many others were sobbing with laughter.
One person commented: “This has me cackling I can't.”
Another user added: “I’m sorry I’m howling this is so funny.”
While a third person chuckled: “It’s him doing kick moves right behind her having a mental breakdown for me.”
Someone else giggled: “I thought this was a joke until I saw the literal tears in her eyes. I'm so sorry for laughing.”
Despite many people poking fun at Ruby’s Michael Jackson based fear, it seems that she is not alone in her phobia.
This user admitted: “Tell her when he died they put his mugshot on TV and I couldn’t sleep in my own room for a week (I was 7).”
A second shared: “No but how do so many people feel this way!! I’m scared of him too.”
Meanwhile, this person related: “I had a tribute act chase me round a bar on holiday when I was about 7 or 8 and I've been petrified of him ever since.”
And, a fourth user confessed: “Nah I thought I was on my own with the MJ phobia! Legit when he died and his face was just on every tv for channel 24/7 it was my worst week ever.”
