Adrian Chiles says his life changed after installing urinal in his home

Adrian Chiles has admitted that installing a urinal in his home "changed" his life.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star, 55, wrote in his column for The Guardian and revealed that he is a proud owner of a urinal and has encouraged other men to follow in his footsteps.

The presenter explained that the urinal, which features a West Brom crest, is the solution to many domestic issues, including men leaving the seat up or having poor aim.

The former One Show host assured "gentlemen – or anyone with a penis" that it is "wonderful to have a toilet of one's own" despite the fact that women "retch" at the sight of it.

Calling himself a "great enthusiast for urinals", the sports presenter admitted that he is "baffled" by the disgust and insisted that they are in fact "tidy, clean and flushable".

The broadcaster also made the admission that his column was inspired by Ryan Reynolds giving Rob McElhenney a urinal in the Wrexham FC grounds for his birthday.

The sports pundit detailed: "I was reminded of the urinal I have in my flat, sitting below a stained glass window, featuring West Brom's crest. I'm very proud of it – the urinal more than the crest."

The interesting column sparked a heavy debate with people on social media, many of whom had divided opinions over his decision to have a urinal.

One user on Twitter wrote: "Adrian Chiles defending the depth of his urinal is not something I expected to hear when I woke up this morning."

Another asked: "Why on earth would Adrian Chiles / anyone want a urinal at home?"

A third penned: "I can't get enough of Adrian Chiles' columns. They're just so weirdly banal yet whimsical."

While a fourth tweeted: "Logged on, saw Adrian Chiles’ urinal, logged off."

The Birmingham-native presenter is best-known for hosting a range of different British TV shows across the BBC and ITV.

The dad-of-two spend five years as ITV Sport's chief presenter for football coverage, while he also presented shows like Daybreak with Christine Lampard and BBC's The One Show.
