Amanda Holden gushed with pride after receiving her daughter Lexi's GCSE results as she shared the news with her followers.

The devoted mum took to her Instagram stories to brag to her fans as she congratulated her eldest child on her hard work.

Amanda, 51, sat on some garden steps in the photo dressed in a white striped shirt with her hair tied back as she flung her arm in the air, holding her phone in one hand.

She then captioned the post: "Me when we got Lexi's results this morning. She smashed it. Soooo proud of our girl."

Amanda has been enjoying spending quality time with her girls of late, stepping out to Wimbledon and the theatre with eldest daughter Lexi in recent weeks.

The youngster, 16, has been marked to follow in her mother's footsteps and become a huge star in her own right in the coming years.

The pair wore matching outfits as they sat courtside to watch the action at the legendary British tennis event.

Lexi meanwhile has been tipped to follow in her mum's fashion icon footsteps after reports that she has been signed by London-based model agency Storm.

A source previously told The Sun that Amanda plans on gradually introducing her into the showbiz circuit over the coming months as they set about establishing her as a name in her own right.

The insider said: "The plan is for Lexi to meet with a number of heavyweights of the next few years and make a name for herself.

" Love Island stars can command six-figure deals for a single collection and with the offers coming in thick and fast for Lexi it’s no exaggeration to say she could easily land countless deals of that value within a year. She really is the hottest ticket in town."

Talking to The Sun about her daughter's ambitions Amanda said: "She's a very quiet girl but she knows her own mind. She's very bright and wants to continue her studies.

"She's got her eyes set on university and she has so many ambitions. We want them all to come true for her as any parent would.

"There's no pressure and we'll just see what happens. But finishing her education is very much her plan, she'll have our support whatever she decides to do."
