Amber Gills success since winning Love Island 2019 – including £1m MissPap deal

Love Island 2022 just came to a close with Ekin-Su and Davide winning the hearts of the nation, taking home the £50,000 in a landslide result.

Following their win, Amber Gill posted on Twitter: “MOM & DAD!!!”

She regularly shared her thoughts on the 2022 season, letting fans know what she thinks of the couples on social media.

Back in 2019, Amber won the ITV2 series with her fellow contestant Greg O’Shea, with the two sharing the prize money.

The passion she shared with Greg took a shocking turn though after they left the villa, with Greg reportedly sending Amber a brutal message by text.

Today, she is celebrating her 25th birthday and she already has a successful career to look back on.

What is Amber Gill doing now?

Born in Newcastle, Amber trained as a beauty therapist before joining Love Island.

After she won the show, she decided to relocate from the north down to London, where she moved into her own apartment.

She regularly shares snaps of herself in the London pad, with the home boasting an elegant, minimalist design.

From her, she set up her own fashion collection with MissPap, which is estimated to be worth a staggering £1 million.

The fashion designer also makes regular appearances on TV still, featuring on Love Island: Aftersun, Loose Women and Saturday Night Takeaway.

Amber has even started a career in publishing, taking a book deal with Mills & Boon to release a series of provocative novels.

Regarding the release of her first book, Until I Met You, she said it’s “so much more than a love story.

“It’s about bringing about more representation and inclusivity to the romance genre – the lead characters were never Black or mixed race when I was younger. I want that to change.”

Is Amber Gill still with Greg O’Shea?

Following their time together on Love Island, Amber and Greg split after she claimed he savagely dumped her via text.

In 2021, Amber appeared on Loose Women and spoke about the breakup, saying: "We were texting each other. Basically all I wanted was a bit of effort from him to come to London or Newcastle to come and see me, and I just was like, 'Oh, I'm going to have to give up if you don't put the effort in', and then he was like, 'Okay, bye'.

"I think there was a bit of miscommunication, but I think if you don't want to be with someone, you don't want to be with someone."

However, Greg spoke to the Mail Online, claiming that wasn’t how the split went down.

The rugby player said: "I think [Amber] expected me to fight for it but I had to be realistic and look at it as a proper relationship and not the Love Island winners.

"This was all on FaceTime, then I had to go to [rugby] training, so I put my phone down and I came back after an hour and my phone was blowing up, an article was released 'Greg breaks up with Amber over text' – I couldn't believe it."

Greg even said that he still receives death threats over the split two years later.

He added: "It went really badly. It's two years ago at this stage but I was getting death threats, hate mail, my friends and family were getting death threats, my mother was getting calls – people messaged my mother saying ‘you gave birth to a little p***k’ and they told her to go and kill herself. It was very bad.

"I could deal with it because I had the lads around me but it was very sad for my mother who got so upset.

“It got brutal for a while. I lost 600,000 followers in a short space of time. Everyone flipped on me thinking I was a bad person.

“It's been brushed over and I'm fine now and in a better place but it was really hard at the time."
