Dan Walker has swapped the BBC Breakfast sofa for the Strictly ballroom over the past few weeks proving that he could shake it on the dancefloor.
However, it's has been rumoured that the star pulled out from the shows national tour which is scheduled for next year, after becoming a victim to a severe level of trolling from the show's viewers.
The 44-year-old star and dancer partner Nadiya Bychkova, 32, were the most recent pair to be eliminated from the show after they failed to receive any votes to stay from the judges.
In a lengthy post on Instagram, the breakfast host mentioned his appreciation for dance and thanks Nadiya for being an "incredible" dance partner.
It's still completely unsure why Dan has pulled out of the tour. However, on his Instagram he speaks openly about the severe amount of trolling he's received each week.
He writes: "To the angry mob who shouted, insulted and moaned each week… please think about your words."
"I can thankfully cope with it, but others can't, and some of it is cruel, unkind and unnecessary."
According to The Sun, a source said: "His decision not to take part will have been extremely disappointing for the tour's organisers who always hope the people who sign on will be the stars who've caught the public's imagination."
Usually, there are seven couples picked from the previous year's contest to take part, and they usually include the dancers who performed the best in the competition – including the winner."
If the reports are true, Dan will become the first quarter finalist in four years to turn down the chance to go on tour with his co-stars.
Some strictly followers had come to Dan's defense, believe he should've stayed over co-star, AJ Odudu.
A fan tweeted: "#StrictlyComeDancing on that dance off Dan was much better. It wasn't fair that AJ changed the final lift!"
Now, only four couples remain. This weekend AJ Odudu, Rhys Stephenson, John Waite and Rose Ayling-Ellis battling it out on the dance floor for a place in the final on Saturday, December 18.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday night on BBC One
