Ben Shepherd shares rare snap with wife Annie as he jokes hes peak middle age

Ben Shepherd has shared a rare snap with his wife Annie as the pair enjoyed an afternoon together.

The Tipping Point presenter revealed he and his 43-year-old wife took advantage of the "afternoon sunshine" by going for a walk.

However he joked that the happy couple have "hit peak middle age" as they took along flasks of tea with them to keep them warm while walking.

The Good Morning Britain presenter can be seen wrapped up warm in a black and grey striped scarf and sunglasses while beaming at the camera holding his blue flask of tea.

He penned to his 491,000 Instagram followers: "It’s happened – we’ve just hit peak middle age.

"Went for a walk with @mrsannieshephard in the afternoon sunshine, and we took flasks of tea!! So Rock n Roll! #sorrynotsorry."

Fans were quick to comment on the TV star's rare snap with his wife.

One said: "You know how to live. Simple as that."

Another asked: "Please can we go for our walk soon and have a middle aged cuppa?"

Others agreed with Ben adding there was "nothing better".

A fourth commented: "It’s the little things."

Ben and Annie first met while at university together and married in 2004. They have welcomed two sons together.

The couple's afternoon stroll comes weeks after Ben revealed he had suffered a "knee incident" over New Year.

The knee injury has been an ongoing issue for the star as he underwent surgery last year after he fractured his leg and ruptured his ACL whilst playing football.

Following his surgery last year, he told fans: "Hi there everybody, thank you for all the amazing love and messages. For those who didn't know I ruptured my ACL and tore my meniscus in my knee playing football.

"They've repaired the ACL and the meniscus and now starts the rehab, the very slow, long rehab. However, I have to say, the painkillers seem to be doing the job right now."
