Big Brother’s Chanelle Hayes ‘engaged’ to boyfriend Dan after whirlwind romance

Ex-Big Brother star Chanelle Jade Hayes has revealed that she is set to tie the knot to her boyfriend Dan Bingham.

Chanelle, 34, has had a very public and difficult romantic life, but things began looking up when the Big Brother star started dating accountant Dan Bingham in 2021.

Last week, sources close to the couple revealed that the pair are officially engaged after Dan popped the question,Closerreports.

Chanelle said “yes straight away” to Dan, who is the first person she has ever been engaged to.

A source told OK! Magazine : “She’s been dreaming of this for such a long time.

“Chanelle has really been through it when it comes to relationships and this time it really feels like she’s found The One. She’s already looking into wedding plans and can’t wait to finally get married – she’s been dreaming of this for such a long time.”

The Big Brother star is known for her previous romance with fellow housemate Ziggy while she was on the show in 2007.

The two made headlines, but split after just six months. After that, Chanelle was in a relationship with footballer Matthew Bates, who she had a child, Blakeley, with.

Blakeley is now 12 years old, but Chanelle and Matthew had split by the time he was born. Chanelle then dated Jack Tweed, Jade Goody’s widower, for the rest of her pregnancy.

She had another child with PE teacher Ryan Oates, but she says three months after her son Frankie was born, Ryan “just walked out”. Ryan has not confirmed nor denied the claim.

Chanelle recently appeared in the papers after she dropped an incredible four dress sizes after a gruelling fitness journey.

But the star has spoken out about her struggles with binge eating, revealing that she sometimes lost weight through unhealthy and dangerous practices – including taking laxatives or starving herself.

After years of her weight fluctuating, she even lost some of her hair – and sought out a hair transplant.

She told Closer in 2019 that she was determined to focus on her health and happiness going forward. She said of the support she has recieved from her fiance: “My partner just wants me to be comfortable in my body. We’re happy how it’s going. I wouldn’t say no to marriage in the future.”

But probed about the possibility of more children with Dan, she shut it down, saying: “Absolutely no more babies. Maybe I should ask them to give him the snip when I get my surgery – although recovering and nursing him at the same time wouldn’t be fun!”
