Aside from the rock music, Queen guitarist Brian May is as busy as ever with other exciting projects. Fans will know he has his very own Red Special guitar brand, which had its own gold-plated coins made a few months back. Well, now the 73-year-old has alerted his fans to the fact that the previously sold-out collectables are now back in stock.

May posted a couple of the gold coins on his Instagram, with one showing his Red Special guitar and the other depicting the side of his head like a monarch.

The Queen guitarist wrote: “Gold (plated !) BM sixpences ! Remember these ?

“A few months ago we sold out of this limited edition very fast and I felt bad you guys didn’t get a chance for a look-in.

“Well, I promised I’d see what we could do and… guess what ? ! We now have just a few more !”

Meanwhile, May was set to set off on Queen and Adam Lambert’s UK and European tour this summer.

The Rhapsody tour dates had already been postponed from 2020, but have now been moved to 2022.

Responding to the news, the heartbroken star wrote on his Instagram last month: “Yes – sadly we have to postpone again. Gutted. But we have rescheduled exactly a year later – and all tickets currently held will be valid – and – we’ve added extra dates !!! Yes … I know.

“It’s not an outcome any of us wanted. But currently humanity is besieged – and the only weapons we have are purely defensive.”

May then went on to criticise the UK government’s handling of the COVID-19 crisis.

The Queen guitarist feels strongly that Boris Johnson should have ordered the country to go into the first lockdown much sooner.

The 73-year-old wrote: “It’s a humbling experience – especially if you are unlucky enough to have a Government that did not grasp the seriousness of the situation until it was way too late.

“To those of you in beautiful New Zealand – who are free to walk in the Sun, thanks to the wisdom of the great Jacinda – bless you !”

May added: “Maybe some day we will be able to join you.

“But we have to be patient. Onwards ! Somehow It’s gonna be ALL RIGHT !!! Bri.”

Queen and Adam Lambert’s UK and European tour will take place in May to June 2022, but will now kick-off in the UK with two shows at the AO Arena Manchester on May 30.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Queen’s final line-up, when John Deacon joined the band as bassist, so no doubt there’s more fun in-store – especially as the tour cannot take place in 2021.
