Cheryl seen with Ex Liam Payne for the first time in three years

Cheryl split from Liam Payne in 2018 after a two and a half year romance, but the pair remained in contact while they were co-parenting their four-year-old son Bear.

They appeared to keep their distance since their split while maintaining a good relationship for Bear – but for the first time in three years, they have been spotted together.

In pictures obtained by MailOnline, the pair were seen leaving a house in Wolverhampton after they reunited for a first birthday party for Liam's niece, the publication said.

Cheryl and Liam both opted for casual wear as the beauty pinned her hair back in a relaxed fashion and wore a grey short-sleeved hoodie.

She rocked a white top underneath the hoodie and a lilac floating floor-length skirt and white boot heels as she got into a car.

Meanwhile, Liam was donning a black Givenchy hoodie and a pair of shorts with some trainers as he also got into the vehicle.

Family stood outside and chatted to the pair as they loaded up the car and prepared to get in.

Bear wasn't in sight, but Cheryl and Liam have stayed in contact to co-parent since their split – though Liam previously said that a lot of their co-parenting was on FaceTime during the pandemic.

He previously told Glamour that following their FaceTime calls, he was feeling closer to Cheryl and Bear than ever before.

The singer also explained that because of the pandemic, he was able to bring his son toys but he had to give them to him over the fence.

Cheryl and Liam appear to be getting on well after their reunion, which comes after Liam called off his engagement to model Maya Henry.

They announced their engagement in August 2020, but confirmed their split 10 months later.

He admitted that their relationship had ended on Steven Barlett's podcast Diary of a CEO, but said he was "disappointed" in himself.

Liam said: "I'm more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people. That annoys me. I've just not been very good at relationships.

"I just need to work on myself before I put myself onto somebody else."
