Daisy May Cooper says she used to shoplift with her brother Charlie to survive

Daisy May Cooper has revealed she used to shoplift with her brother Charlie.

The pair, who shot to fame on BBC comedy This Country, fibbed about what they were buying at supermarket checkouts.

She told the Radio Times: “Me and Charlie used to shoplift all the time.

“He used to put a chicken through as onions at the supermarket self-service because onions obviously cost so much less. He got caught and we were followed around after that.”

She added: “It’s awful, but you do what you have to do to survive.”

But thing are certainly looking up for the star with Daisy’s mum predicting her daughter is destined for Hollywood.

Despite Daisy laughing off rumours that she's in line for a life-changing role in the next James Bond movie, Daisy’s mum Gillian Cooper gushed that the star would be a “fantastic choice” to play spy chief “M” in the 007 franchise, previously played by Dame Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes.

Speaking from her home in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, Gillian Cooper told MailOnline: "Daisy's everywhere at the moment.

"She was with me this morning and we saw the story in the news about her playing M in the new Bond movies, and she thought it was hilarious.

I'll scramble through my phone, and her picture will come up. She's always been destined for greatness."

Paying tribute to Daisy's talent and the success she's achieved so far, Gillian added: "I'm unbelievably proud of Daisy and her brother Charlie, who is her co-star and fellow writer on This Country.

The two of them are just incredible. Performing runs in their blood.

"She'd be a fantastic choice for them if they did it.

"But it's the first she's heard about it. I don't know if someone's put her name forward, but she'd be perfect. It'd be a really different direction for her and for the Bond films because she'd put back a bit of humour."

While Daisy has yet to receive an official offer, Gillian proudly revealed that her daughter's recent weight loss following her divorce from husband Will Weston was due to her hectic work schedule rather than the “Keto diet”, as previously speculated.
